The girls hair grew in a weird manner. Both focusing on the center head only. Wonder why the daddy and mummy had so thick hair yet their next generation had so little hair.
Both their fringe is getting quite long and often irritates their eyes. Had been noticing that the girls had been rubbing their eyes very often because of the front hair. This mummy didnt want to cut those fringe herself because she was afraid that her lousy skills might accidentally hurt their eyes. And usually those fringe cut by non professional will end up either uneven or too even until it look TUT TUT!
So I decided to bring them to a professional to get their fringe cut. Luckily my mother knew this saloon branch manager quite well and my girls got to cut their little hair by that manager himself at a very good price. I will feel heartache if I bring them to Junior League just to cut the fringe and probably trim abit at other area for $20!
So off we went to Jean Yip for the hair cut on a Sunday morning. As expected, the girls cried when the guy brought out the scissor and comb. Elsie at first was holding on to her tears and just kept her head looking at the floor. Later when moved to Chloe, the whole saloon was her voice. Elsie upon seeing Chloe cried also started to feel uneasy. When I requested that Elsie fringe was still too long and to trim shorter, Elsie started to shout and teared too during the 2nd round of cutting. This evil mummy!
No photos to show coz it was badly taken...too blur as they keep moving!

It's been THREE years!
Another year again. Our 3rd year wedding anniversary. Because I had many important meetings on the actual day (15th Oct), so we took leave on the 14th instead. Brought the girls to MIL place and we went to Hougang central to buy ingredients.
These were what we bought
So now you should be able to guess what we are planning to do?
Yes, BAKING! Time to put my new oven into good use.

Ingredients for the Choc Chips muffin

I am in charge of baking the muffin

The flour with butter dough is ready!
Time to mix in the sugar, egg, chips, vanilla essence etc...

It's popping up!
The final product - Choc Chips Muffin!
The Recipes!
He is in charge of the cookie

It's baking......

The final product - Choc Chips cookie!

Our lunch!
Left the house at 4+pm and head to Great World City to watch 'The Ugly Truth'. Was deciding between this and 'Surrogates'. Had been so busy with work for the past weeks hence wanted to watch something relaxing and funny. So we choose the comedy show. I thought it would be a really funny show but I didnt laugh much throughout the 96mins. But the storyline is quite good although I didn't really agree with some of the things which Mike Chadway said in the show about men and women.
Didnt had time for a good dinner because by the time the show ends, it's almost 9pm and we had to go MIL place to pick up the girls back home. That's how we celebrated our 3rd year wedding anniversary.
A toast to our marriage and hopefully many more years to come.
The Gifts:

A card for me

And THIS for him! See the big contrast???!!!
Flashback:
1st year at Club Med Bintan
Along came E&C and then................
2nd year at Vivocity shopping, watch movie, eat dinner
3rd year at own house baking, watch movie, back home
4th year.....maybe both working and will not even bother to celebrate...:(

Off she goes....back to hometown
She took the 12.15pm Jetstar flight to Yangon airport this afternoon. All the Chua family members including their other half, except the youngest Chua & his gf, were there to send her off. We were all relunctant to let her go but we had no choice. She was indeed a good FDW. Although she does had her bad points, but it can be covered up by her good points. Afterall, no one is perfect and NOBODY can meet total 100% expectation set by the employer.
We did leave our HP with her and said if she wants to come back Singapore to work as FDW again, can contact us back (if she still wants us as her employer). If she is coming back to Singapore for a tour, she can also contact us. But that outing might seems weird because we will be meeting her as a friend now and not employer status.
We will have about 2 weeks without a helper. I will be working fully from home for these 2 weeks, with approval from my boss. Yes, I have a good and understanding boss! All meetings in office will be done through conference call for me. I will be working + helping MIL to look after the girls during the day time. Hui will come back at night to take over the shift while I attend my night calls. All work not done during the day will have to do it at night when the girls are asleep. You can expect I will not be able to 100% concentrate on work as I had to help look after the girls while my MIL cook their lunch/dinner or whenever help is needed throughout the day. It will be a super tiring period for me.
When the new maid come, it will not get any easier for the first few weeks because everything had to re-train again and guide her to do the correct things. I hope she is smart enough to pick up things fast. Most importantly, I hope she loves kids as much as the previous one does. Just one action from her which shows she abuse/ill-treat my darlings, she will pack her luggage and back to the agency. No chances given. If she had done it once, it might happen the 2nd time and how will I dare to leave my kids with her alone. Not alone as in only the kids and her will be left in the house because that will NEVER happen. We just need someone to "see" the girls while I attend my conference calls and Hui get to go bathe or do some chores in the house. If I had no confidence that she love kids, will take good care of my kids, I don't see a point having her in my house to make myself worried everyday.
Getting a good maid is like gambling. Luck plays the most important factor. Hope our luck will be as good as 13th August 2008!

Till we meet again...Good bye, Aye Soe

Poly and Sec gathering
Went to Dallas restuarant for lunch to celebrate 3 polymates birthday which falls on 7th, 12th and 15th October. Not alot of people can make it, but the attendees already made the outing worth while. It's not the quantity, but quality that counts! It's this group of people that made our friendship last for many many years. Well done!
Gek Eng and I did not bring our kiddos along because we wanted to have a great time enjoying the lunch instead of running around chasing our kids. So we deposit our kids with the respective care-taker and met the gangs for the long waited gathering.
Credits to TGE & hubby for the photos. Had a great time playing around with their Sony DSLR and taking my virgin "professional" photos! So tempted to get one DLSR too to take professional studio-look-alike photos on my darlings BUT BO LUI lah!

After the gathering with Poly friends, I left and attended another gathering. Hui sent me to Pasir Panjang and then went to Mt Faber Safra to meet up with the gangs again for bowling.
After leaving this school for 13 years, I am back again to this familiar compound. Structure of building never changed much, except that this is no longer a secondary school, but an Adventure club. Although this school is small, it is a wonderful school. The teachers are great and everyone in the school is just like a big family. But sad to say, the school closed down in 1996 and I was moved to Hua Yi Sec to continue my 4th year of study for 'O' level. Never really like Hua Yi because it was too big. More guys, more distraction = Lousier grade! Hahaha...Anyway some of the teachers in Hua Yi cannot make it. I believe Phyllis will fully agree with this..:)
Anyway, it was really nice of the PPSS pioneers to come out with this alumni gathering. They really spent alot of effort in contacting students from different batches and teachers as well. Some teachers already retired and they still managed to find them. Impressive I must say!
And I tell you, they are really pioneers which enter the school in the 80s. We met one who told us he graduated in 1967! My friends and I who attended were actually the YOUNGEST among the big group! It does feel good to be the youngest there when we knew we are approaching the 30s soon! :P

Buffet lunch at Hotel Rendezvous
One of my colleague got promoted and invited me and another colleague for a buffet lunch treat at Hotel Rendezvous on 2nd Oct.
The best part of the buffet is the durian dessert. Small yet very fulfilling! Bitterly sweet durain flesh scope onto a mini cup. I had 2 cups while the guys had 3. Very fresh salmon sashimi they had too. I also like their salad bar corner with very nice cold pasta and delicious potato salad dressing. Their laksa taste great too and had won those food award before. The disappointing one was their main chinese dishes. It was more like a supplement to the buffet section so no point waste your stomach space with those food. Save it for the laksa, salmon, salads and dessert!
Very coincidently, all 3 of us were wearing almost exactly the same outfit. Black polo top and jeans. It was a Friday so it's dress-down day in office. We were joking that we seems like those temp staffs wearing the same dress code standing in the street distributing pamphlets!
Anyway, it was a good get-away lunch from the hectic work!

The yummilicious durain in cup and some other desserts!

The fresh salmon!

我的女儿长大了!
Many months ago, Chloe was very sticky to me and refused to let anybody carry except me. Once I carry her, she will refuse to get down and hug onto me tightly. When she sees me and I don't go to her, she will scream and cry until I give in to her. Now, she is not that sticky to me anymore and seems to be closer to Daddy. On the other hand, Elsie became more sticky to me. Seems the 2 had interchange their soul huh?
Every Monday to Friday, we will bring the girls over to my MIL place. After having breakfast over there, we will then leave the place. Hui will go office while I go back home to work. Everytime when I am near at the door, Elsie will start to scream and cry for me. She will stretch out her hands wanting me to carry and refuse to let me go. I always had to secretly leave the house when she got hook to her favourite Hi-5 TV show. Chloe will depends on her mood. If something caught her attention, she don't really bother about me!
Since last week, Elsie had changed. Instead of screaming on top of her voice when I am near to the door, she actually wave goodbye to me and gave a sweet little smile. I thought that day she was just in a very good mood. But subsequent days, she did the same thing to me. No fuss, no cry. A hug, smile and wave goodbye!
I am delighted, at the same time sad.
When I take a closer look at the girls, their face seems to change quite alot since the day they were born. Their action and the speed of their ability to pick up new things/words are much faster. When I carry them, I suddenly realise I could no longer carry them for that long because their weight had been increasing. Climbing up the stairs with them is also more difficult now because they had grown taller and somehow their legs is obstructing my legs when I bend my knees to climb the stairs. They no longer like to carry in cradle position (unless slping). They will struggle to get into upright position so they can see the view better and pointing to me things that caught their eyes. They will also respond back now by shaking or noding their heads, sometimes accompanied with hand action to say No.
How times flies. End of this month they will be 17 months. All parents would love to see their kids grow up faster and be independent. Somehow the older they get, the less bonding they will have with their parents. Especially in this new era, how many children will actually willing to spend their majority of free time with their parents. It will either be spent with their friends or boy/girl friend...and then later their husband/kids. This is the human-nature life cycle.
Looking back, I do miss those cradle-carry days where I feel so close to them, and they needed me most - for milk! I do hope they will grow up faster like any other parents, but yet afraid to lose this closeness with them.
Well...面对现实吧!

Back to where I ended...
It was a healthy Monday.
Hui was involved in a wedding on Sunday (he was 1 of the xiong di & main coordinator, so he left the house at 6+am and reached home at 1am!), so he took leave today to rest at home. It was a very last minute decision as it was only decided on this morning itself. But because he did not want to let his mother know about this, so he had to wear office wear and brought the girls to her place as if it was like normal working days.
After dropping the girls at MIL place, we came back home together. Seeing him at home made me no mood to work as well! So I took half day leave too and we planned for a workout at gym. He did some housework in the morning while I replied to some office emails. 11.30am we got ourself prepared and left the house around 12.15pm.
I ended off from there, I started off from there......
2 years ago, I had my very last gym session at Vivocity Planet Fitness. At that time, I was already pregnant but I did not know about it. Few days later when I did a test, it was positive and I was already 6 weeks pregnant. From that day onwards, I never step into the gym anymore. Not even after I gave birth and stop breastfeeding!
Fat FAt FAT, I am! Ever since I stop pumping breastmilk, I feel like a pig eating non stop but never get rid of those extra calories gained. Weighing on the scale and seeing the digit increasing every week made me wana kill myself! Squeezing my tummy and showing the horrible fats I gained to Hui had become a daily night topic. Wanted to lose weight and get rid of the tummy so much, but super lack of the motivation to execise. Working from home too often had made me even lazier to get change and step out of the house just to go gym. Find it's a waste of petrol somehow to purposely get out of house and travel to parkway for gym and back home. Running by pavement along the roadside was something I hated because I feel more unhealthy breathing in the carbon monoxide from the car exhaust pipe. So all the thoughts of losing weight did not happen....
And today, Hui was determined to get me out of the house and step into the gym again. He had a trial pass with True Fitness (previously known as Planet Fitness) and it was only for Vivocity branch. He was still considering to purchase the membership so requested the trial version first from the True Fitness sales consultant. As for me, it is one of my company benefit to enter the gym FOC. :)
So 2 years later, I am back at the same place again for my workout. All the equipments I normally used are still the same, but the stamina I had was no longer the same. Running on the threadmill for 10mins and I could feel the breathless in me and the legs and mind kept telling me to stop. Anyway it was my first time back to execise after 2 years so can't expect much from it too. Had some workout too with the cross trainer, stomach crush machine and some weights machine before leaving the place. Spent about 2hours there. It was a good sweat-out! It's really a long time since I sweat like this. Kind of miss the gym routine I had last time, twice a week (if no time, at least once a week) after work with my colleagues. But I know the gym kakis can no longer go gym together because of our different job nature now. :(
Had our lunch at subway after gym. Both shared a 6 inch grilled chicken Honey Oat bread, accompany with a cup of barley and cookie. Went to Star Challenger to buy a HDMI cable and went home to watch our streaming movie online with our laptop connected to the LCD TV. Had some popcorns POP using the microwave and enjoyed the short moments alone w/o the kids. Ice age 3 finished just at the right time at 6.30pm before we got ourself prepared to go over MIL place for dinner and pick up the girls.
A well spent Monday. Hopefully more to come............

Mid-autumn at Polliwogs
Early morning brought the girls for their 4th (also the last) jab of pneumococcal. For the previous 3 similar jabs, they are fine with the injection and did not develop any fever. Therefore I assume their body is already able to accept to this jab and will not develop fever for this round too. So in the afternoon, I jio Hui's sisters and BILs to Polliwogs at East Coast Park.
This is a place not for the adults, but kids. Something similar to Go Go Bambini, the indoor playground is slightly smaller with 3 levels (GGM have 4 levels) but is more spacious compared to GGB. The cost is also higher. For weekend, Polliwogs charge at $8 for 90 minutes for less than 2 years old. Subsequent 30mins at $3. Each kids allow 2 accompanying adults to enter for free. Subsequent adults will cost $5. GGB charge $5 for unlimited play (for <2yrs) with all accompanying adults enter FOC.
This time, the girls were more daring to climb and play around themselves compared to the visit at GGB. More laughters and action could be seen on the girls too at this place. We, the adults also had a great time there accompanying the 2 little girls climbing up and down and following them closely behind. I guess everyone had the best time on the slides because it was really fast when sliding down and we had our butts landed on the well-protected floor. Cool!
There is an area with tables and chairs for the parents to have a sip of coffee/tea absolutely free of charge, while watching their kids enjoying themself in the playground area. Snacks can be purchase from the vending machine and outside food is allowed in the relax corner.
After 1 hour+, we could see the girls were tired and it's also time for their milk. We prepared the milk and fed them at the relax corner, cleaned their face and hands and left the place as the 90 mins was up.
We then left ECP and head to Marina Square for dinner. Had our dinner at Kenny Rogers, walk around Marina for awhile before heading home to rest. The girls slept pretty early till the next morning. It's a good workout for them. More to come as this Mummy will continue to search and explore more such places in Singapore to bring the girls for "exercise"!
Besides playing, it's time for them to go for some enrichment classes too since they will turn 18months in 2 months time. I am already looking around for some good schools to bring them once a week for lesson to learn ABC/words/sing song/music/dancing etc. Will blog more about this when I have shortlisted my choice.
Some photos to share taken at Polliwogs:

Top right: Elsie and Gu Gu having a crawling competition. Guess who won?
Bottom right: The RAT race! See who climb faster!

Teabreak at Burger King

Dinner at Kenny Rogers
