EC had been more independent since went school. Since early last year, they can remove and wear their clothes themselves without us helping anymore. Morning wakeup (depending on their mood), they can tidy their own bed and fold their blanket. They also learnt to brush their teeth themselves now both morning and before sleep.
Lately, they learnt to bathe themselves too! On the tap, stand under the shower head, put on shampoo and body wash, scrub scrub scrub, wash away the soap, off the tab, shout for daddy or mummy to check if they are clean before wiping off the water with towel and wear clothes themselves. This is a new and good progress as it save us more time to do other things while they are bathing themselves!
Going to childcare does have pro and cons. Apart from being sick more often due to longer exposure to other kids who are sick in school, the independence skills they learnt in school outweigh the cons.
The toughest thing to let them learn now is to wean off diaper at night! So far had been very unsuccessful as they often pee out while asleep! By hook or by crook, they had to be totally off diapers by Jun this year. That's my target for them!
Andre is learning things really fast at 17 months now. He can walk well now and even run. He loves to copy what his sisters do and say. He likes to give alot of funny and cute expression. His speech is better than his sisters at this age. He can talk clearly in broken sentences and two syllabus words too. All thanks to his sisters! His favourite and known words are:
-Eat (#1 in list! Cant stop eating!)
-I want (everything also he want!)
-Papa (favourite person)
-Mama or mummy (finally he can call me! He learnt mummy from his sisters!)
-Scared scared (often patting his chest when he said this)
-Hi (learnt from 'Baby I can read' vcd)
-Bye (always loud and clear and waving his hand when he said this)
-Gai gai (super excited when we are near the door)
- pant (love wearing pants, duno y)
-shoe (something he seldom wear coz he got no control outside when shoe is on him and letting him down to walk! Pa Pa Zao!)
- Nice (every food into his mouth he will feedback with 'nice'!)
- you go (with the action pushing you away)
- bubble (gets excited like his sisters when they are playing bubbles)
- shh shh or poo poo (will point to his diapers especially now he will tell inform us when he poo and want us change his diapers)
....
Many others which I can't think of right now.
I should start signing him up for enrichment classes since he can absorb and learnt things fast at this stage now.
