Having placed the girls in childcare had always been my last option. Due to some Chua family issue, MIL can no longer take care of my girls. Maid also chose to leave us for a higher pay (just $20 higher!) with another employer. Everything happened close to each other that caught us unexpected!
My mum will be the caregiver for Andre & the girls will be at childcare near my mum's house. This is the best (but not our ideal) option we could think of.
My greatest fear of putting them w CC is them falling sick frequently and passing the germs/virus to little Andre. He's too young for medication! Ofcourse, the most dreadful thing will be HFMD.
And after entering the school (this school only open in Oct 2011) for 3 weeks, there is 1 case found and that boy was in their class! Damn it, KNN, TMD, @&$?"@)$!!
Parents were invited to attend the Xmas party on 22nd Dec. Parents were to bring some food to share. We were so looking forward to it as the children will be performing a play - The Happy Prince. My girls had been learning the dance steps for 2wks and we had some sneak preview at home. But the party was cancelled due to 1 case found on 21st Dec. Parents were not allowed to attend the party anymore but the kids would proceed among their own class.
The girls skipped class on 22nd & 23rd with fear they might caught the virus from the 2nd/3rd n so on victims incase they managed to escape from the 1st one.
But...No no no...on Xmas Day night, Chloe was having fever. We checked their mouth/hand/foot everyday since we gotten the news but there was no signs. But to my horror on that night, we saw many tiny red spots n 2-3 ulcers poping out in her mouth! What a present Santa Claus gave!
Elsie definitely couldn't be spared. She either get it from that boy in school or from Chloe.
This morning (28/12/11), Elsie got hit too! She's now running a fever @ 38.4.
Hui & I were really exhausted. I had fallen ill too with a bad flu n cough. Hui & I had been trying hard to quarantine EC and not letting them into our MB room because Andre is inside. Poor Andre had never step out of the room since Xmas Day till now. We had to wash our hands with soap so many times throughout the day and whenever stepping into the MBR. Mask had to be worn whenever we carried Andre or go near him. It's very tedious and we had to keep enforcing EC to wash hand as and when until they kept asking us "why need to wash hand again?"
Seeing Hui working so hard juggling on the household chores, taking care of ECA, lack of sleep and neglecting his work breaks my heart too. I went to see doctor yesterday (27/12) and the medicine from Dr Chua is so strong that kept me sleeping for 5hrs+ during the day, with in between 30mins awake to pump milk and concuss back to bed.
I'm feeling really down with all these and I indirectly vent my anger on the girls whenever they misbehave. After the scolding/beating, I feel terrible and breakdown infront of them that day (26/12). What a bad mother I am that my children had to comfort me with "Mummy, why you cry? Because we naughty huh?"..and sat on the bed keeping silent and see my tears dripping and dripping....
Hope all these will be over real soon and everyone will be back in good state - healthy and happy. My wish to end year 2011 will be Andre be spared from HFMD!
I'll be officially back to work really soon. It's another challenge ahead of us with all my night conference calls and kids at Clementi. In Canto: 真还没眼看了!
