Books & more books

Since last year, we had tried to read storybooks before bedtime to E&C, but later it didn't continue as we were getting lazy. Later when SIL bought a fisher-price flap book for E&C few weeks ago, the girls started to enjoy the story-telling session again.

Now every night before sleep, they will come over to the study room to grab a book and walk back into the bedroom and insist us to read for them.

We also adopt the Julia Gabriel style of a short introduction before story-time:
1) Asking them to say out what is their name in full sentence! - "My name is XXX".
2) Asking them to cover their eyes and count to a specific number we request, then say "peek-a-poo".
3) Singing "Are we sitting down for story-time...Shhhh". So they will put their finger on the mouth and goes "Shhhhhhhh".

That's the pre-requisite to start the story time. Usually the story book I picked to tell have to be short stories with short paragraphy. Too lenghty makes the session boring and drag their time to get into bed.

The story-telling had to be very creative and funny. We will make funny noise, funny action and throwing pillow or whatever crazy things we can think of to match some parts of the story line. Guess that is why they enjoyed sitting down and listening to the story from start till end.

Bought some books via the SMH forum today and total damage around $50!
12 books for $42. If buy individually will be $3.80. Heard retail was selling at $4.82 per book. So quite a good steal!

Following chinese story books cost $2.50 each. I feel is cheap with good quality of printing and the chinese wordings comes with HanYuPinYing. But maybe if I buy from China it might be cheaper? :P
Previously I've already bought 乌鸦喝水,龟兔赛跑 and 孔融让梨. Now 2 more to add to the collection!
