The princesses first swimming lesson

In a far far away land at Hougang, there live 2 princesses named Elsie Chua & Chloe Chua. One fine Saturday afternoon, the King and Queen brought their little princesses out to the Baby Spa (by Hwa Xia) located at the central side of their hometown where their castle was. The queen had made an appointment with the shop at 3.30pm on 13th Sept 2008.

They arrived at the place punctually. It was newly opened on 1st Sept at Plaza Singapura, which was their 3rd branch.

As the people in the shop needed some time to set up the water, the King and his maid waited patiently at the shop. The Queen was so excited about the place that she was busy snapping away with her camera.

It took quite awhile for them to set up the nicely warmed water in the tub. As the swimming area was opened for viewing by the public, it attracted many commoners standing at the glass plane watching.

Finally after about 20mins, the 2 bathtubs were ready for the 2 princesses to swim in it. It was a tub of don't know how many metres deep. Anyway, it's just so deep that the 2 princesses were unable to touch the ground. The place will provide some bath toys to be placed inside the tub when the swimming lesson start.

After all the waiting and dely daly, 1 hour had already passed!

Princess Chloe waited until she had decided to go into her dreamland instead.

Princess Elsie was very excited about the swimming that she managed to keep herself awake. Therefore she got to go down into the tub first. The person at the shop had to undress her naked in order to get into the bathtub.

Princess Elsie was enjoying her naked swim in the tub with many people looking at her. She just do not feel shy!

Princess Chloe upon hearing so many laughing and giggles sound around her, she was awake. Similarly, she was undressed and placed into the tub beside her sister and started her first swimming lesson.

Look, Princess Chloe was enjoying the swim as much as her sister do.

Babies are born swimmer and they love to swim. At birth the baby’s brain has little information about how to move on the floor because they have never had that experience. Therefore for the 2 princesses, it was just natural instinct that they knew how to kick and swim once they were in the water.

And this is Princess Chloe enjoying her swim as well!

After the swim, the King & Queen fed the 2 hungry princesses in the shop before heading back to their castle to rest. Seeing the princesses enjoying the swim so much, the Queen decided to bring them for swimming again 2 weeks later, this time at the branch nearer to their castle - Punggol Plaza.

"Newborn babies already know how to swim, so we really don’t need to teach them much. We only need to give them the opportunity to use what they have learned in utero. Providing an opportunity for baby to move in the water is an ideal way to develop not only a stronger body, but a better brain.

How does physical activity cause the brain to grow? The simple answer is stimulation. If a baby receives extraordinary stimulation, the brain will store an extraordinary amount of information. This is the foundation of human ability. Swimming stimulates the brain’s sensory areas. The back part of the brain is dedicated to incoming sensory information from our environment. This includes the visual (seeing), auditory (hearing), gustatory (tasting), and olfactory (smelling) senses. Everything we ever learn in our lifetime (everything Einstein ever learned in his lifetime) is the result of what the brain takes in through these five pathways.

In swimming, success depends almost entirely on ample opportunity. As such, swimming is an important and fun opportunity to develop a baby’s brain from the earliest age. As a mother, perhaps your most important responsibility is to help your child develop into the best human being possible. There is no better time to provide this opportunity than now."
