Typical Singaporean!

Yest hui and I went to Chinatown to watch the start up of the lightings and fire crackers. It was a nightmare!! I reach the place at ard 4+pm, went for a early dinner at maxwell food centre, because I knew by the time the whole thing finish, it shld be quite late. After the dinner, went to walk around and reach the stage area ard 5.30pm.
We got quite a good view to watch the fire crackers as we are quite early. The fire crackers supposedly shld start at 7pm. We waited and waited..the crowd was getting bigger. Can't stand some ppl, they came late, and still keep squeezing inorder to get to the front! Then what's the purpose of standing there early!
At ard 6.30pm, some tcs ppl from Liang Jia Ban(Jack Neo's team) arrived. Then the commotion happened!
Infront of me were 2 aunties and a uncle carrying a child. They started to quarral due to pushing issues. They started off scolding in mandarin and then turn to english..
Then...due to the big crowd, one of the jewellery store owner complain to the police that the crowd are pushing their closed glass door and might break it..the police had no choice but to move the railings more to the front so that the crowd is able to see more clearly, and also not to obstruct the entrance of the jewellery shop.
BUT, the exciting part happened..the people standing in the very front objected of moving the railings more towards the front coz they are afraid the ppl behind will keep pushing them to the front and they might fall. Especially coz there are many kids standing in front. However, the police assure them it wun happen...in the end...well...the behind really started pushing and everyone was screaming around. Me and hui was then being push to the back!I've wasted 1.5hrs standing there grabbing a good view and when the show was going to start, there goes my view. I was blk by all the tall ppl! Luckily still manage to peep thru some "holes" to watch the firecrackers. Then the ppl started complaining abt the police, saying : "How will the singaporean listen to them!! If they listen, then they are not singaporean liao!!" ... I just laugh to myself!
After the crackers went off, going back to the carpark was a headache too! The crowd just stop there!! No one was moving!! Behind keep pushing!! Ppl are quarraling!! OMG!!! What a scene!!
After we manage to get to the carpark, to get out of the place was the only thing in my mind.
We headed to the Cheese prata shop for our supper near pasir panjang road @ ard 10pm. Reach home at 12+am. This will be my first and last time to go for such event at chinatown!
